Rolling hills
With speckled farms
A vast outreaching scene
Carved out slate
For roads to snake;
Small cities squished between
Antique homes
Some wood, some stone
With porches smiling, "Hi."
Outstretched brown limbs
Tinged green with buds
Tan squares of wheat fields, dry
Cornfields;
Goats and cows out grazing
Are always very near
Apples, berries
Pumpkins, grapes
All grow abundant here.
Colorful bark on
Trees, line cliffs
Ash, Maple, Oak and Pine
Forests, woods,
Rock and streams
An ever-present find.

Great picture of you two! Wish I could have been there, but in any case....
I enjoyed the commentary of the Lorax, as an avid lover of Dr. Suess and his works, it is one of the lesser read of his collections.
Looking forward to visiting you blog.
